SCRIP NEWS SEPT 2006

The Scrip Team welcomes everyone back from summer fun and is ready for the busy back-to-school fall season. We have some great new vendors for our scrip customers. Kohl’s Department Stores have joined the roster with cards available in $25 and $100 denominations. They will also accept scrip as payment on your Kohl’s charge account.

J.C. Penney will also accept scrip as payment on charge accounts, so we encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to use scrip.

Please stop by the scrip table on Sundays to pick up a new list of merchants – more are being added all the time.

We also want to remind you that scrip can be purchased every Sunday before or after church, and on Wednesdays from 9:30 to noon, or at other times by appointment.

MOMS, GRADS, AND DADS  May 2006

What to do, What to do?  We have some ideas for you! 

 Moms are easy.  Use scrip and take her out to dinner or maybe let her pick what she wants from Bath and Body, Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens N Things, Pier One or Sees.

 For the Dads we have Men’s Wearhouse, Footlocker, Sears, Orchard, Lowe’s, Home Improvement, Restoration Hardware, Home Depot, Radio Shack and for the mechanic Kragen Auto.  How about an evening at Claim Jumper, Outback Steak or Black Angus?

 For Grads we have, Starbucks, AMC Theater, Regal Theater, Buca Di Beppo, Cal Pizza, Sam Goody, Amazon.com, Blockbuster, Islands, Nordstrom’s, and Ross Dress for Less. 

 Don’t forget that office Depot and Staples both carry computer supplies for the graduate in your life.

 Let Pilgrim Church make your dining experience more rewarding using scrip. Your dining experience can earn the church up to 17% of your total: Applebee’s, 8%, Acapulco, 9%, Tony Romas, 9% Black Angus, 14%, Chili’s, 11%, and Marie Callender’s, 17%. Have dinner out, enjoy yourself, earn the church money and there is no need to do dishes!

A word from one of your webmasters here... Art has discovered the ARCO Prepaid Gas card!! All these years I have been plugging in my debit card into the ARCO paypoint...and answering "yes" to the "do you accept the $.45 transaction fee" ( is was $.35).  Iif you get 10 gal of gas each time,  you add another 4 1/2 cents per gal to the marked price... it adds up.  Buy the Script $50 ARCO prepaid card and plug it into the same paypoint after selecting the pump # and enter the printed 4 number id on that card.  Up comes a message about the remainder on that card.  (and NO $.45 fee)  The best part is Pilgrim receives 1.5% on the card.    Better yet...get 2 or 3 cards.  And that's the truth! Believe it or not, the holiday season is coming soon! You can shop early with scrip and save yourself lots of frustration later. You can pre-order for the holidays by using our special pre-order forms. You let us know the date you want to pick up the scrip, and we’ll have it ready for you. Welcome to a new year. If you're still making resolutions, your Scrip team recommends you add "buy more Scrip" to your list. This is a very simple, but effective, way to help us increase Pilgrim's income. We have a very extensive list of available merchants. If you're a business owner, we have office supply, equipment and electronics stores and gas cards.

Contemplating a remodeling or home improvement project? We have scrip for Lowes, Home Depot, and Sears. You can also shop at Pier One, Linens and Things, J.C. Penney, and Bed, Bath and Beyond for accessories to complete your new look.

SCRIP NEWS Dec 2004

As we enter the biggest scrip sale month of the year we hope you have filled out your gift order list and given it to a volunteer at the scrip desk. This helps us get your request ordered and ready for you when you want to pick it up. You can then go directly to the cashier, pay for your order and not have to wait in line.

HARD TO BELIEVE FACT: For this year (2004) we have purchased over $80,000 in Stater Cards. Even Stater management finds it hard to believe that 77 Pilgrims have supported the program so well. THANKS, AND THANKS AGAIN! That $12,000 boost in October helped make the difference!
